It is the collectives and the individuals who sustain them who have created the conditions for public awareness of enforced disappearances, institutional intervention, and social support, even though recognition by the authorities is not always guaranteed. At the same time, they are the ones who have paved the way for reinterpretation based on dignity and memory, transforming the territories and life stories of the victims and those who survive the violence.
